Learning to play any musical instrument is one of the most rewarding and challenging tasks imaginable. Music requires a total investment of focus and energy that is so hard to grasp in this modern age of digital distraction. As a result, it is my personal belief that musical study is now more important than ever. Through the study of music, we just might learn to slow down, listen, and grow. Although you may find fads online offering apps that teach you to play the piano or Youtube tutorials teaching you how to play the latest and greatest popular songs, there is absolutely no replacement for one on one private lessons with an expert teacher.

I come from a musical family having studied piano with my mother and grandfather. I began teaching the students on my mother’s waiting list as a young person. I never stopped teaching, although after having kids of my own, I have greatly reduced the number of students I agree to have in my studio because I’ve taken on the responsibility of homeschooling my kids. I try to be selective and prefer working with dedicated families who prioritize music in their lives.
